Hello 'tis LeDiamonddozen, congratilitions for finding this “My First Thoughts” impression blog. I promised this blog on Facebook (go like my page). I knew I couldn't break a promise between a blogger and his followers. And I didn't...the only problem is, it's going to be hard.
As some of you may know I got a way better PC back in February. So now I can play games like Call of Duty or Watch_Dogs on my computer. I bought Watch_Dogs for the computer and now I realize that I should have did my research first. Apparently Ubisoft has had this problem before where they can't port a PC game correctly. Some people of framerate lag, some can't even get IN to the game, my problem is that when I get so far the game, or even once, my computer crashes. This is an obvious problem, because you can't trade in PC games. I believe that the registration codes only work on one account. I will do further research and edit in my findings, as for now I will start “My First Thoughts”.
Graphics
From what I've seen the graphics are amazing. Well...there up to par with every other game, which is a feat I suppose. As any game is nowadays the facial features are designed nicely, the cutscenes look great, and I can actually see what I'm doing. I bought the PC version, like I said, because I can run it, but also because I was told that games look nicer on the PC. With my graphics on the lowest setting I can still see that, indeed the PC graphics are better.
Controls
This may because I'm not used to PC games other than Minecraft, but I find that the controls are a tad finicky. The PS3 controllers seem to respond better to my movements. However, I do like that the mouse isso much more sensitive. With the PS3 if you boost up the sensitivity the game is practically unplayable, because you can't see what you're doing. With a mouse it automatically has the perfect sensitivity.
As for the control layout, as previously mentioned, I'm not a PC gamer.I'm fine with the WASD keys for moving, thanks to Minecraft, however;I don't like having to press buttons such as Z, X, and C for my main functions. I presume I could change the controls if need be, but there isn't really a huge window for me to do that. The keyboard only has so many places with which to strategically place my fingers.
Story
I've barely got into the game, because it crashes constantly, but from I understand the story is very unique. I'm going to try to keep out any spoilers here. I assume everyone knows that hacking is a big thing in the game. This is the truth. You can hack anything to your advantage. It uses the same strategy set that Hitman uses, but with technology. While in Hitman you'll use a bottle to distract a person in Watch_Dogs you use a hacked sensor of some sort stuck the wall. This allows for an amazing story about using technology to your advantage. I can't really say anymore about this without spoiling anything so go play it yourself, it's brilliant.
