So many of minecrafters have probably have heard of this matter.
Mojang has issued a new EULA (End User License Aggrement) which has put off many people as of late.
But many people do not understand what is truley going on.
People have been thinking lately that Mojang will not allow any more donations to servers in any way.
Like in this article: http://phyriammo.com/forum/threads/new-mojang-eula-causes-phyrias-indefinite-suspension.727/
This is not true at all, Mojang has issued the new EULA to prevent any income from what they have made and to prevent
anymore 'Pay2win' servers anymore. (And also fooling little kids to steal their parent's credit cards.) (And more.)
This is the actual EULA from Mojang's website:
People are slightly overeacting and escalating this matter more then it's worth.
From this article by Mojang in which they state the main things that servers are NOT able to do.
https://mojang.com/2014/06/lets-talk-server-monetisation/
Key notes:
#1 Not aloud to charge players to join your servers.
#2 You are allowed to accept donations. (Hold your horses.. This is not indepth yet.)
#3 You are allowed to sell in-game items as long as it doesn't give a clear advantage over free players.
#4 You cannot sell in game money for real money.
#5 Don’t pretend to be us. Provide your customers with loads of info (Don't pretend to be Mojang.)
#6 You are allowed to provide in-game advertising or sponsorship opportunities
NOTE From the Mojang server site:
#1 (Not allowed to charge players to join your servers.)
So long as the fee is the same for all players, you are allowed to charge for access to your server. You are not allowed to split your playerbase into paying, and non-paying users, nor can you restrict gameplay elements to different tiers of player.
Basically, if you’re charging for access to your server, you are selling a “ticket” and there can only be one type of ticket, regardless of how much people are willing to spend.
#2 (You are allowed to accept donations. )
You are allowed to accept donations from players. You can thank them publicly or in-game, but can’t give preferential treatment for donating. You are not allowed to restrict gameplay features in an attempt to make money.
#3 (You are allowed to sell in-game items as long as it doesn't give a clear advantage over free players.)
We don’t mind you selling items in game, but they must be purely cosmetic. Pets, hats, and particle effects are OK, but swords, invincibility potions, and man-eating pigs are not. We want all players to be presented with the same gameplay features, whether they decide to pay or not.
There is one exception to this rule – capes! We have a lot of fun making cool capes for extra-special members of our community and Minecon attendees. We’d like to keep them as exclusive as possible. So, yeah, no capes please, even if you’re giving them away for free.
#4 (You cannot sell in game money for real money.)
We don’t mind in-game currencies which are earned through playing, but you are not allowed to sell them for real-world cash. Remember – if the stuff you sell affects gameplay, we’re not cool with it.
#5 (Don’t pretend to be us. Provide your customers with loads of info (Don't pretend to be Mojang.)
If you do decide to monetise your server, you must clearly state that the purchase is not associated with Mojang, declare who the money is going to, and provide a purchase history and contact details. You should also check the legality of selling digital items in your specific region.
#6 (You are allowed to provide in-game advertising or sponsorship opportunities)
You are allowed to put adverts in your Minecraft worlds to help with costs. Used within reason, adverts and sponsorship can be appropriate ways to fund a server.
Also regarding every server host out there. You guys are fine due to the fact this does not effect you:

Also, you misspelled "allowed" alot in the blog, might want to fix that.
It doesn't mean I murder people in real life.
And yes, your very much a shad busher too right?
And i'm not American and I grew up in China.. Expect me to have PERFECT English.
Oh and i'm going to fix that. If you just stated to fix allowed I would not be as agitated.
You assumed that I was trying to make fun of you, when I was simply pointing out a funny coincidence. I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way, but keep in mind that not everyone is out there to attack you, like you just did to me in retaliation for something you thought I did.
I don't expect anyone to have perfect English; I was simply pointing out that you had misspelled something repeatedly and figured someone should point it out kindly before someone made fun of you for it. The two topics in my comment are separate, that's why they're in separate paragraphs.
Sorry for the workup... I was angry after watching the end of The Last Of Us...
How could Joel...
You know what? Sorry xD

When I posted the first comment I had only read the key points of your blog.
Now that I have read the full thing I see that you stated you are allowed to charge for access as long as the fee is the same for all players so then, technicaly, you are allowed to charge acces which you should state in your key points.
Apart from that, good blog! +1 diamond for you!
