Flat nether is a datapack for the versions 1.16.5 and it works in vanilla, forge and fabric

flat nether change the generation of the nether to make it more "flat", like the overworld but with a ceiling.

this make the nether more easy to travel and survive if you are good, but that doesn't mean it's lees dangerous, because now the ghast have pretty big view to blast you from everywhere

Flat nether change some things of the nether, like mob spawning, structure spawning and surface builders and add a feature that makes traveling more easy in the nether

Ok let's talk about the change in the biomes


Nether Wastes

The nether wastes are a plain biome, big and full of fire and falling lava, everything is netherrack and nether ores are in the surface, pretty useful for getting resources and experience, only Zombified Piglins, Magma Cubes and Ghast spawns here, there is no more piglins here also, the structures here are Nether Fortresses and Ruined Portals


Soul Sand Valley

this valleys are a big desert of souls, giant fossils and soul fire in the ground, there is some Basalt collums that fall from the ceiling this is the home of Skeletons and Ghast of the nether and There is only Fortresses and Ruined Portals here, it's very hard to move around here but with soul speed you can make this biome very good for fast travel


Basalt Deltas

Basalt deltas is a place with lava deltas and Basalt formations and it's the place where you go for mining blackstone, the ground is made of blackstone and there is a lot of basalt there too, Magma Cubes and Ghast spawns here and there is Buried Ruined portals and very spooky Fortresses


Crimson Forest

Home of piglins, A Forest of giant Fungus, there is this crimson forest vegetation with Funky nether trees, the surface builder is crimson nylium and netherrack patches and this is the only place where piglins and Hoglin spawns (in vanilla) and pretty good for living if you like being attacked by giant pigs but if you bring some Warped Fungi you can have a pretty good life there are ruined portals and also, This is also the only place where bastions spawns so they are more rare


Warped Forest

Distored place, this is a pretty similar to the Crimson forest in vegetation but everything is warped, there is only endermen here and it's the most pacific biome in the entire nether, the best place to live if you are good at avoiding seing endermen, the only structure here is The Ruined Portal



And there is something in all of this nether biomes, Underground Lava Rivers

Underground lava rivers is the place where striders spawn (only in crimson forest and nether wastes) and is the best way to travel in the nether before you have Elytras, this is also the best place for mining Glowstone, but there is a bad thing, Basalt deltas break the rivers, a lot of times rivers are buried with basalt in Basalt deltas and i can't fix that sadly
