''''One, two, three, four, five', counted Mound, slowly, while the fuse still spluttered. Then he pressed the linstock into the touch-hole of the mortar, and it went off with a roar. Standing immediately behind the mortar, Hornblower could see the shell rise, its course marked by the spark of the burning fuse. up and up it went, higher and higher, and then it disappeared as it began its downward flight at right angles now to the line of sight.''

- The Commodore

Hello my friends,

Today is have something very special for you guys, something that i have put of many times.
Today's build is a replica of one of the two bomb ketches used by commodore Hornblower to secure the Baltic sea during the Napoleonic wars

Bomb ketches were very queer craft, with quite unfamiliar proportions. These types of the bomb ketches had two big 13-inch mortars in their bows. Because of this, they lacked a foremast, which had to be made up for with a giant mainmast, and very large jibs. (only one of the three is set on this build, because they are so close to eachother, it would otherwise create one big block of wool) These ships were highly specialised craft, used primarily for bombarding targets on land, such as batteries, fortresses and harbours. They were never intended for fleet actions, and are very unsuitable for fighting other ships with. they only carried 8 guns, aside from the mortars, and had very little space for crew.

As always, this ship can be used as a player base, and has a complete and somewhat historically accurate interior.

Also, due to this ship being made in 1.13, and my go-to resourcepack has not yet been updated, i have included Dokucraft-light, instead of Dokucraft-dark. when i get hold of the Dark version, i will update the download.

Also also, please forgive the lack of renders, my go-to render program has also not yet been updated.

Please enjoy this build, let me know what you think of it, and if you like it, please give that diamond button a hit!

Cheers!
