you could try making a texture pack altering the appearance of certain items.
or you could try to make another use for eggs! (those blasted items are a waste of space. Idon't know whyI have an entire chest full of them, or an egg farm...)
maybe a new type of ranged weapons? or a mace! or a staff that you equip potions to so you can use a potion effect serveral times!
just so you know, I don't know your capabilities, so I'm just spitting out ideas
