For what it's worth... Don't pine too much for toxicity in your life. You'll encounter plenty, but the less there is, the less it will affect how you see and choose to deal with the world. While there is great value in overcoming obstacles (maybe don't ask for accommodations when you know you don't need them, choose an extra challenging project and keep the deadline, choose a physical challenge you know you can't complete as you are right now, etc.), there is so much toxic behavior allowed in school these days that I would never consider public school for my children at this point.
