I always forget that such things as homeschooling exists and I was baffled how many people can actually get by homeschooling.
In the country which I live in education at home is nonexistent if not illegal. Any degree you can get is from trained professionals with certificates that the government allowed thus they belong to an enterprise, the government or their own enterprises. No such thing as homeschooling is allowed.
I wish I was homeschooled though. It could've been nice instead of the humiliations and disrespect me and my classmates got for over 15 years.

I'm a homeschool mom. I love being able to be with my kids all day and, because I know what they're learning, I can point out all the real-world examples as we come across them. It's made learning a lot more fun for them and we don't have to spend as much time on traditional academics because I can reinforce it so much outside of the "classroom". While I understand people's reservations about homeschooling, there are co-ops just about everywhere where the kids get to socialize and make friends. I'd highly recommend it for anyone who's able. <3

Depending on whose numbers you believe…
low I found was ~3.5% census.gov & NPR
high was around 10% https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/parenting-translator/202109/the-research-homeschooling
Lots of the numbers are based on different metrics [K-12 vs K-6 vs 1-6] and time frames (Covid lockdowns etc caused a surge arguably to 100% in some districts — depending on how one reads the question.)
Then there's the Kodachrome isssue…

Cause it's awesome! (I was technically in public school till 2nd grade though. But homeschool is 1000x better.)

homeschooling has its benifits, but I still think normal school is better because of the social interactions.

I still get plenty of social interaction via my Church and youth group. And I have friends who I hang out with all the time. Being homeschooled doesn't mean your cut off from the world or anything. I will agree wth you hat you get to talk to a lot more at public school, but some of my friends who are public schooled say not everyone is exactly he nicest person.

I wanted to be homeschooled but I needed a psychologist's permission for that. They decided that it would be bad for me and gave me lots of help at school that I never needed.
My current school is exhausting, but I wouldn't have anything better on homeschooling

Well there's a third option that should be here - private or charter schools. But I meant that I'm half private schooled and half homeschooled because I do online school. It's a real school but I do it at home.
