I'm going in this blog, talk about what I saw, yesterday and today, a mysterious white bird. I really don't know what it is and its arrivals are so fast!
Before this strange event...
It all started yesterday, before seeing this mysterious white bird, I had already experienced some interesting little things with birds. I was coming home from a car ride and, on a low branch of my big tree in front of my yard, was a crow. Yes I know, nothing very special, just that I have had great respect for crows for a while. This crow was for me, a wonderful welcome, although for some it may seem a bit, banal. Afterwards, once at home, I saw what had been very rare for a while at home, a wild turkey. I love gallinaceae, it's one of the families of birds that I love the most. After seeing all of this, I come to the most important part...
The white bird
I was going to my balcony, because there was no wind that day and I had been motivated by all that I had seen before. (No wind, well almost. There is always wind where I live) After having greeted my couple of downy woodpeckers who are never afraid of me and whom I consider friends, I settled down on the chair of my balcony. I watched the chickadees come and go. Eventually, after all the little birds left, nothing else happened. I heard almost nothing, until a moment something caught my attention, a slight noise, well, I don't know what really motivated me to turn my head, but when I had turned to the right my head, I saw coming flying, a large white bird, with the tips of the black wings. It passed behind my red maple, close to me, then went straight, very close to the ground. He passed behind one of my maple trees, then I saw him no more. I was disturbed after that. One could think of a gull but it is impossible! I am very far from the nearby water points. Then if not, they would have made the characteristic cries of a gull, right? You would think he was coming back from migrations but today I got my answer that no, it was not that. If not, maybe a snow goose? Already, strange that it made no noise. As strange as it was alone. Then why so low? No snow goose that I had seen in large numbers one day had passed so low and so close. I was left really disturbed, it reminded me of a time long ago when I was outside walking on my property, then I saw two birds fly over me. I looked at them, I let go of my gaze for less than a second, then when I looked at the sky again, they disappeared. It was not a cloudy day, they would never have had time in less than a second to land, it was strange. It seems to me precisely that they were white.
Now, what happened today?
I was looking out my window at the birds that were visiting my red maple tree when I saw out of the corner of my eye, the mysterious white bird, flying to the left. I was sure it was him. I already couldn't see it from the window I was looking at, so I rushed as quickly as I could to a window that I assumed would allow me to see the bird again. I saw it then, white and big like the one from yesterday. He was quickly moving away. But I saw him, flying over the field. Sometimes I couldn't see, then a few seconds later, I could see him again, really far away. He had even landed on an electric wire. On an electric wire? A snow goose wouldn't do that! But would a gull come that far from the water? Alone ? The fact of having seen it again, meaning that it was not a question of a bird returning from migration... I absolutely do not understand this mystery.
So, I'll do a update tomorrow, if I see him again. If you have any guesses about this mysterious bird, please let me know!

Not a gyrfalcon...a gull ! : by Orcraftia 04/25/2022 12:35:19 pmApr 25th, 2022
I was seriously mistaken. It was a gull :)
I saw three of them today, they were flying slowly over my house and I could see the morphology well.
I was beginning to suspect that I was wrong about the gyrfalcon because after thinking about it, I noticed that it was not that similar.
I promise, it's the last update ;)

Also a few questions :
Was the neck long?
Beak color?
Size?
It was definitely a gull! I saw three today, above my house and I saw them clearly.
I think I finally know what it is, although I'm not sure yet...
It comes so fast, impossible to take a picture ^^'
