Chapter 7: God of Quicksilver
The sunrise was still visible. Did E.S. fail to time-travel? That's a pretty reasonable take, basing on the fact that there was nothing mentioned about claiming the Time Essence. But that's not the case! The essence was harvested from the undead colossus, I just forgot to mention this. If you actually follow this story, I'm glad your mind could be capable of creating this type of scenario. Or is it my mind? Heheheh... And story will only get wilder.
Ender Sparkle stumbled across a land full of granite, both untouched of the wilds and chiseled in the city. Everyone was wearing clothes that made an illusion of being made entirely of "cloth ribbons" of some sort. There were also many festive ornaments, so this unusual clothing could also be, but one couldn't be sure if not spoken with the wearer, familiar with the tradition lost to time. So, the only reasonable thing to do was to ask.
- Good morning..? Can I ask a question about this clothing? It seems a little... unusual for me.
- (Townsperson) It's for the Eclypse festival. If you don't live under the granite, you know that this isn't our everyday clothing, but only for festive occasions. You also have a nice costume.
- Yeah, yeahh... What is your costume presenting?
- (Townsperson) Colors. It's most basic Eclypse festival costume. Myths say that on a fateful and faithful Eclypse like today, the God of Quicksilver and the Withered Dread will take all of the colors away, so we wear this so we can cherish the shade diversity as much as we can. Your Kirant costume is also very outstanding, maybe even the most realistic out of any I have ever seen.
- Thanks, I guess... (am I the bad gal here?) Is the God of Quicksilver evil?
- (Townsperson) No, but the Withered Dread are. Both will take over the world, but not together. When black and silver are only colors that are left, their lords will fight, and the God of Quicksilver will emerge victorious.

After the talk, E.S. went into the Temple of Quicksilver. She didn't exactly know that this building was, but the outstanding diorite architecture was standing out in granite town. As soon as E.S. entered the temple, celebration started, but our dragon didn't notice that. There was something big in the center, all the colorful sculptures and cross and spiral mosaics were either facing showing directions to it. It was a giant gilded humanoid quartz statue. And as soon as a light beam entered the temple, it started to crumble and melt.
- (???) Welcome, mortal, to my temple. I am the God of Quicksilver, watching time pass with my gold ey- wait, where are they?
- You don't seem to have them, at least in your physical form.
- (God of Quicksilver) But believe me! I have eyes! Well, I had them. Did someone... steal them?
- It wasn't me, uhh, whoever you are. I just entered.
- (God of Quicksilver) I know. I sensed a lot of filthy "visitors" a little while before you came here. I can't do much as a statue, and I can move only during a solar eclipse, which local townsfolk celebrate as Eclypse.
- Were you going to color the world silver?
- (God of Quicksilver) Who told you that? The townsfolk? Adding few silver ores here and there that are depleted in your time period turned into global corruption? Eh, mortals... You are looking for a Time Essence? Find my eyes, then I'll try to figure out your problem.
- I know who stole them already. An enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And E.S. went to a suspiciously placed camp the second she noticed it. Plot motivation, I guess. Anyway, everything that was expected was reality - Wither King and his army planning bad plans and wondering what to do with these gold eyes they just stole. From overhearing one could hear considerations on doing... questionable things with them, but final decision was to just melt them to forge a statue of their ruler. The mission was very generic - bad guys beaten, blocks retaken, no incidents happened. Even Ender Sparkle said "Huh. Weird. This mission was painfully boring, but hey, I'm one step closer to repairing the Time Machine completely." At the temple, though, something interesting happened. A voice started speaking from the sky?
- (???) What is this?
- God?
- The three* and only. Quicksilver Golem, you can make one last wish come true.
- (Quicksilver Golem) Last? I don't really want to lose others' faith...
- Remember that you are who you are just because I said so. The lightning that made you alive was brought by a storm, that was requested in a prayer to me.
- (Quicksilver Golem) I'm sorry, Father. Silver is a metal of time, and silver manipulation feels like godhood. Well, almost...
- I forgive you. But do not deify yourself again. And you... What brought you here?
- Drifting in time misplaced, searching for Time Essences to be able to set coordinates back home?
- From this mess, I'm able to make one for you. I'm wishing you luck on your journey, and remember to stay on my path!
- I will!
Then, the Holy Light faded away, revealing beautiful moonlight. Quicksilver Golem spoke again to Ender Sparkle.
- (Quicksilver Golem) I'm sorry for this mess I caused. I didn't expect the Father himself to appear here, I just wanted my eyes back now...
- Don't worry about this. At least I know that my belief wasn't a lie. How would it be a lie at all?
- (Quicksilver Golem) Eh... I don't have a place to call a home in this time. Will you take me to your time-space? I will fit in a chest.
- Won't you get stuck in here? You can move only during an eclipse.
- (Quicksilver Golem) Actually... This godly visit made me feel stronger. Like for wandering every night, maybe even I think I'm capable of seeing the sunlight for the first time!
- That's awesome!
And the journey continues...
