Here is my baking blog! I use this for the various things I bake, all in spoilers (click them to see the pics) some images are fairly large and might not load immediately on slower connections.
I've included the recipes in the newer stuff although I don't know the recipes for much of the older stuff

I'd say it turned out great, edges could be a little neater perhaps but it was very nice

Feb 6th 2023 - Chocolate Marble Cheesecake - Turned out well although consistency was a little off
What I learned from making this + recipe
Chocolate needs to be melted carefully, not going too hot or it messes it up, had to get dad to show me how to save the chocolate after I turned it into a sort of play-dough consistency. Also whipped the cream a little too much making it hard to put as much of the white chocolate on as I'd planned to.

Feb 14th 2023 - Blueberry Muffins - Turned out well although the big one was a little undercooked in the middle
What I learned from making this + recipe
Putting a load of muffin mix in a big tin and baking it with the same settings as the muffins can make it end up being undercooked - I did take the big muffin out later but it still needed to be in longer really, the mix would also have been fluffier if I had used oil instead of butter, and I should have been a little more careful not to overmix although I didn't overmix much. I also should have put at least another blueberry or two inside the muffins rather than just the 4 on top of each one. Still, they were delicious.

What I learned from making this + recipe
DO NOT melt the gelatin like 10 minutes before you need it so it solidifies then has to be re-melted and then tries to solidify again almost as soon as you start mixing. This is without a doubt the least edible item of "food" I have ever created, the base and jelly were edible but the rest had an awful consistency full of bits of rubbery gelatine and it ended up getting binned. Will definitely do things differently next time, still it's good I tried making it because I learnt an important lesson from it.

Turned out great, the icing could have had more icing sugar perhaps but I'm happy with how it turned out

Mar 6th 2023 - Egg Tarts - turned out good although I'd rather they were a bit less buttery
What I learned from making this + recipe
I learned that I'm not all that keen on custard tarts, at least not the ones from this recipe, they're alright but I'd prefer other deserts

Mar 7th 2023 - Apple Meringues - tasty but needed lots more sugar as they were a bit soft (not the best pic)
What I learned from making this + recipe
Take more than one photo when you make something in case the photo you take isn't very good.
I made these using the egg whites left over from making the tarts.
Meringues need more sugar than you might expect, having looked more into it I needed over twice what I used. Also Meringues cook at a low temperature so the apple was still pretty much raw, still nice but if I had wanted it cooked I'd have needed to cook the apple slices separately.
Recipe is from this video, and then I added apple slices with some cinnamon and sugar.

Mar 12th 2023 - Mint Chocolate Brownies - would use a different recipe next time, but still nice
What I learned from making this + recipe
When I tried melting the chocolate I was more careful this time - too careful - I had it on too low a heat and was waiting ages before dad came in and told me to turn it up. I didn't want to mess up the chocolate like last time and was more careful than I needed to be.
I used some of the leftover icing on some chocolate brownies my sister had.
Also I could probably have added a little bit more food dye to the icing.

Mar 20th 2023 - Crème brûlée cheesecake - didn't need the jam but was nice
What I learned from making this + recipe
The brûlée on top worked well, but as I found out you should not put that sort of thing in the fridge as it makes it dissolve. I also tried marbling some of dad's sieved homemade jam into it, which didn't really add any flavour as it would have needed more, and the colour bleeding meant it didn't really look nice - won't do that again.

These turned out great! Might try this recipe again sometime - there were also 4 more which aren't in the photo above since I couldn't fit them all in the oven at once.

Apr 19th 2023 - Lemon cake - yummy but could have turned out better
What I learned from making this + recipe
The recipe involved baking half the mix in one tin and half in the other, I couldn't do this as I only had 1 tin of the right size, so I just baked all the mix in one and then was going to cut in half, although it didn't really rise enough for that, the cake was also a bit greasy on the bottom, won't use butter to stick the greaseproof paper to the bottom of the tin next time. The icing needed way more icing sugar, but we didn't have enough to use, and I made way too much icing as well so there was a bowl with a fair bit in in the fridge which I used the following week. The cake did taste nice though.

What I learned from making this + recipe
I reused the leftover icing from the lemon cake rather than the icing from the banana cake recipe, I added more icing sugar to the icing as well since it was too runny.
