Gilgamesh is the main character of the oldest written story ever found, the epic of Gilgamesh. In Sumerian mythology, he was the demigod king of the city of Uruk. He ruled for 126 years. I chose to make my contest entry of Gilgamesh, because there is major historical significance to be found in the oldest known legendary hero.
