Rainbows - by Bluenade

This data pack adds new, rainbow-themed content to Minecraft without the use of mods, resource packs or plug-ins.

Finding / Summoning Rainbows

As of yet, rainbows will not spawn naturally, they can however be summoned manually.

To summon a rainbow you will need:
- 9 snow blocks.
- 2 gold blocks.

Once you have collected those resources you will need to construct a "totem" .

First place your snow in a 3x3 square on the ground:

Then place your 2 gold blocks in a 1x2 pillar on the top:

And just like that a rainbow is summoned!

What's at the end of it?

At the end of the rainbow a special zombie will spawn: This zombie is The Golds' Guard.
The Golds' Guard is tough, fast, strong and has magical powers - so make sure your well equipped for the fight!

The Golds' Guard has 2 special powers:

- A summon/trap ability.
- A blind/confuse ability.

The summon ability will activate once every 15 seconds as long as you are within 10 blocks of the zombie, this will summon a minion to fight you. If you are not within the 10 block zone, the zombie will instead lay down an invisible trap, which will slow you down if you step on it.

The blind ability will inflict blindness upon all players within 8 blocks of the zombie and will spin them 180 degrees.

Yeah Yeah ok, but what does the thing drop?

The Golds' Guards' minions will drop a couple of pieces of variously colored concrete.
But
The Golds' Guard itself will drop:

- 18 to 25 gold ingots
- 0 to 1 Potions of Luck
- 0 to 1 Totem of Undying
- 0 to 1 Magic Beam

P.S. if your curious, the
Magic Beam is a custom block i have added, you will have to go and get one if you want to know what it does!

I was going to make something similar to this but never got around to it. But now there's no point; you've beat me to it. Great idea though! xD
