This is my entry for the "Nether Empire Building Contest"

Da Story:

Steve heard footsteps coming, though they didn't sound human, almost hooflike. Then he saw down the white road a crowd of Zombie Pigmen marching towards him, he tried to hide, but they got him before he could.

Steve was shackled and led down the road, being guarded by two of the pigmen, a few minutes passed, and then Steve saw what they were going to, a massive Cathedral.

When they made it to the wall around the Cathedral, they stopped to wait for the golden gate to open, slowly it did, and they led him inside the Cathedral itself. Inside he saw something that made him shocked, he saw a statue of the Winged Ones, the creatures he was looking for! It looked to him like they worshiped that statue, but directly down the rows of seats was a flame, and in front of it was a sign that read; "The First Fire Given to Us by Her" Steve deduced that the Winged One was the one they referred to as Her.

They seemed to stop at the flame, waiting for something, but then it came, the Prime Minister came and grunted out orders Steve couldn't decipher, but he understood one thing, they were going to push him through the fire, he quickly dug in his backpack (his shackled hands made it very hard) and pulled out a Potion of Fire Resistance, which he managed to drink, then they pushed him though, and nothing happened. The Pigmen were shocked, they started bowing down to him, Steve then decided to try and communicate with them by drawing pictures in the ground, they seemed to understand them, so Steve first asked them how if they had a portal or something to get home with, which (of course) they did, so one of them unshackled Steve, and then led him deep into the mountain.

When they had reached the center of the mountain, Steve then drew another picture asking who the Statue was, but right before the pigmen could answer, the portal sucked them both in, and deposited them in the End...

THE END

I spent a good 8 hours on this, the walls are 3 thick, with cobblestone on the sides and bedrock in the middle. I tried to use materials that you could find in the Nether, but somethings (like cobblestone, carpets, wood stairs, etc) I used too

Please Diamond on this, i worked really hard on it, and i would really like to get into the finals!

And some credit goes to where credit is due: hobo joe, i used his blog on building better things, and Mithrintia, for making such an awesome map! kudos guys!
