The Kilo Moana is a Navy research ship based in Hawaii, USA. She is a SWATH ship, meaning she has a Small water plane area twin hull, which is similar to a Catamaran, but different. The Kilo Moana has 4 levels, 3 Garages.
1 large crane, 4 small cranes, 2 life boats, and 10 inflatable life boats. I built this in a total of 3 hours, but added the interiors a full day later. The build was commissioned by: Jacobt10. The ship is 1:1 scale of the real ship.
R/V Kilo Moana (T-AGOR-26) is a small waterplane area twin hull oceanographic research ship owned by the US Navy and operated by the University of Hawaii as a part of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) fleet[1]. She was designed to operate in coastal and blue water areas. The unique SWATH hull form provides a comfortable, stable platform in high sea conditions.
In January 2012 the Kilo Moana began taking on water from a baseball sized hole in her hull. The crew of the vessel along with the United States Coast Guard were able to temporarily plug the hole and pump out the flooded spaces. She returned back to her homeport of Honolulu safely and entered emergency drydock to repair the damaged hull.

I miss going out on the water, My dad used to own this 20 meter long tow vessel from Russia. Unfortunately sunk while it was docked during the winter. The water cooling system of the original engine had Russian instructions, so he didn't know of the reversed threads in the shut of valve ( open was actually closed, and vise versa ). The pipes cracked and stared leaking.
Anyway, the extra information is interesting to read. Have any more projects coming up ?
That is sad to hear about your dads boat, i've never really had a boat bigger than
a skiff lol. Uhh, i've got a few projects at the moment, but i'm not sure which ones i'll post on planet minecraft. I've recently made a harbor tug boat but don't know if it deserves it's own topic so I might make a cargo ship to accompany it, the naval ships are going well and the research ship has barely begun. I'll post a topic as soon as I can! I just realised that I never made a video of the kilo moana for the project, i'll see if I can make one later. :)
