The building is largely made of stone bricks (some are mossy or cracked), while the roofs are made of black stone. The windows are rather small for a Gothic building. There are also no outer buttresses, which is absolutely ungothic. The classification as Gothic is only given by the interior decoration and the large side bell tower. Otherwise the church is built in a more Romanesque style.

The large church building of Normannza is probably the oldest building in the city that is still standing today. It was built shortly before the beginning of the 4th century after the conquest of the country by the Great King Rhobar I. It was to serve as the main church of Normanndia from the beginning - albeit as the Church of Innos and not as the Church of the Redeemer. After the liberation of the city, the Church of Innos became a Church of the Redeemer. After the death of the former liberator, local heroine and first Duchess of Normannza, Joan of Arc was declared saint. This leads to the separation of the Normannzian Church from the Caenauxer, which still exists today. It is said that the sacred remains of the first duchess were buried under the altar of the church.

Das Gebäude besteht zu großen Teilen aus Steinziegeln (auch rissigen und bemoosten), während die Dächer aus Schwarzstein sind. Die Fenster sind für einen gotischen Bau eher klein. Es gibt auch keine äußeren Strebebögen, was absolut ungotisch ist. Die Klassifikation als gotisch ist nur durch die Inneneinrichtung und den großen seitlichen Glockenturm gegeben. Ansonsten ist die Kirche eher nach romanischem Style gebaut.

Das große Kirchengebäude von Normannza ist wahrscheinlich das älteste Gebäude der Stadt, was heute noch steht. Sie wurde kurz vor dem Beginn des 4 Jahrhunderts nach der Eroberung des Landes durch Großkönig Rhobar I. Sie sollte von Anfang an als Hauptkirche von Normanndia dienen - wenn auch als Innoskirche und nicht als Erlöserkirche. Nach der Befreiung der Stadt wurde aus der Innoskirche eine Erlöserkriche. Nach dem Tod der ehemaligen Befreierin, lokal Heldin und ersten Herzogin von Normannza wurde Johanna von Orleans für heilig erklärt. Dies führt zu Abspaltung der Normannzischen Kirche von der Caenauxer, welche bis heute besteht. Es heißt die heiligen Überreste der ersten Herzogin wären unter dem Altar der Kirche begraben.
