I wanted to say that as the moment of writing this the compass is not working with Geyser, and may cause big errors for Bedrock Players (like, corrupting your whole inventory), so be wary for it.

Shovel works great with Geyser, so that's great and is completely functional about it (with minor visual bugs).

What happens with geyser (that is not meant to be played with datapacks, but whatever) is that compass won't be translated into geyser, so your whole inventory even though is registered that you have 'x' quantity of items they all become unaccesible for player and completely invisible; this will make that your whole inventory will be deleted everytime you die on the server, since compass won't be accesible at all.

(The inventory problem can be fixed by swaping to Shovel mode and clearing the inventory of affected players if it happened to you, beware that this will make all graves made by bedrock players before swapping to shovel completely unaccesible)
