A simple datapack that allows to store beacons and their layers inside of shulker boxes. You can then easily move them around and place them back into the world. The datapack is designed in a way that it can't be used for exploits. You can't mine blocks with it or replace bedrock.
Why would you want this? Because moving a beacon can be a pain depending on the blocks you use (netherite for example). And without Haste (II), it is even slower.
The uploaded version now displays the number of layers the beacon had instead of the random name in the tooltip!
The download link will always provide the newest version
available (currently for 1.16+). If you want to download older versions,
please visit the GitHub page and download the datapack from there.
Works with 1.16.x (tested). I don't see any particular reason why this shouldn't work with the 20w46a snapshot as well. Just use the same zip file. If you get a warning message that the datapack version is older, just ignore it.
It probably works with older versions as well, though I haven't tested it myself.
If the beacon shulker box is placed in a way that would need bedrock to be replaced, the blocks that the beacon is made out of in those spots get lost!!! Keep this in mind.
I am open to change the above behavior to instead drop the blocks or leave them inside the shulker box (if enough people want it).

- fixed a bug where normal shulker boxes with an item in the center (slot 13) were treated like a beacon shulkers, making them delete their content once placed.

I didn't play test that much, but I definitely forgot to check this specific scenario. Huge thanks for letting me know. Loosing items because of a bug is really bad!
This has been fixed in v1.0.5
