Hey all my fellow viewers of this rant. As said in the title this is my opinion of why school should "NOT"let minecraft in school. I think it maybe the worst idea ever that should not be allowed to even step foot onto school grounds as a teaching method. Below will me a variety of lists of WHY THEY SHOULD NOT LET MINECRAFT IN SCHOOL FOR TEACHINGand how it will affect daily minecraft players that go to school.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Used for English?
Seriously? Why in the world would you use Minecraft to learn English? First off you can't even talk to anyone if you're playing single player, and second of all have you even been on a server? Most servers contain kids with probably the worst grammar in the world. Instead of saying "you" they use a short form and say "u". This type of grammar will helpabsolutely no one, and for all the ones with proper and etiquette grammar, well then props to you.

Used for Math?

Yet again, another terrible idea and this is why. Math can be applied in Minecraft, and it could help you, but it's also not the best idea to learn from Minecraft. Minecraft may contain proper addition and many other things with blocks and redstone, but what it does not contain is finding "slopes" or things like that. Also does it seem proper to have a whole class of students all playing Minecraft during math class? Seriously what teacher would allow that? Lastly "IT'S PLAIN DUMB"

Used for Science?
This one is what gets me the most, because I actually enjoy science. In what ways is science applied in Minecraft? probably only the basic things but without the important reasons of why it happens. Does Minecraft tell you why it rains? Does Minecraft tell you why the sun, moon, and earth moves? Does Minecraft tell you how animals function and why they live where they are? LIKE COME ON, you have to be stupid to think Minecraft will teach you all the science you know, you're practically saying "Well dude, I jumped off 90 blocks tower and survived in a one block of water, so I can do that in real-life." <--- Idiot, first off one Minecraft block is equivalent to one meter in real-life, SO DON'T BE STUPID OR BELIEVE EVERYTHING IN GAMES. There are many things you still can't learn in Minecraft from school, so stay in school kids.

Used for Art/Music?
I personally don't like art, but I do it because I need an art credit for school. First off art isn't just blocks that can be formed into different structures or tunes to show off your creativeness or skills. There is way more to art and music then just some game that allows you to be creative. You use different methods in art to make ones art moredynamic, such as shadowing, contrast, convergence, isolation, and many more. In music you can't get the same sounds in Minecraft the way you can in real-life. It's not just some blocks... even though I enjoy Minecraft very much, I still wouldn't replace art and music for it. I would rather learn something the correct way instead of the wrong way.

Used for History?
"Hey kids let's talk about some history while we walk though the block made battle field of WW1, and that way we can see what it looked like, and how guns and things worked." enough said, do you really thing the quoted sentence above seems professional? What teacher would play Minecraft to teach History, you can learn the exact same things using books, THAT'S RIGHT BOOKS, DO YOU REMEMBER THOSE? Lastly can you learn about trench foot in Minecraft and how it caused deaths on the battle fields? Can you see how gas was used to kill enemies? Can you see how strategies were used with tanks and artillery's to engage enemies? Most may say yes, but I say no. You can't demonstrate or show how gas was used in wars. You can't show why soldiers died from trench foot. You can't demonstrate battle strategies from Minecraft. Lastly books are more reliable then this teaching method. Books show maps that aren't actually squares because the world isn't made of squares and the world isn't flat either like minecraft, and in history books they can show the actual strategies used for wars and ect.

The End:
Overall, games aren't the right choice to use as learning systems, they are unsafe and can cause health disorders by spending to much time on them. Get out and hang out with friends, be active. Games are a mere distraction that can trap you for a long time, and then you'll regret it later. I learned that lesson the hard way.

Diamond if you agree, or if you enjoyed this rant, see you next time.

All I have to point out is there is a version modification specifically for academic purposes. Your heart doesn't seem to be in this blog at all to be honest, nor did you research anything well enough.

As you can see this is my opinion, and it doesn't necessarily mean you have to agree with it. It's just an opinion and it doesn't require research to say something you think about.

obviously you can't look at another perspective and would rather be trapped in virtual games

I love that you think I'm a mindless Zombie along with all the kids out there, that play Minecraft non-stop, and only stop to go to the bathroom, or to drink energy drinks, but I actually have a life.

Good, then you know why Minecraft shouldn't be allowed in school, a lot of kids are obsessed with it, and it's not that educational.
