Diamonds
Diamonds started out as a large token of gratitude, But now have become something that
some users only give to people that they like on PMC and not for the actual work put into it.
Most people go to a post, judge the skin/picture/etc. in their head to determine if they should
diamond or not.
But I have noticed some people on planet minecraft will diamond things because they have been posted by a certain person.
For example:
Cyprezz Posts a texture pack,
it gets 484 diamonds.
The question is, Did they diamond for the texture pack or for cyprezz?
This kind of thing not only happens to cyprezz but to a steadily increasing number of
PMC'ers
daily.
Personally I would rather have diamonds given to me for the work,Not for how much a user
likes me.
Whenever I see a post:
- If it's a map:download it and Look at the work put into it to judge if I should diamond or not.
- If it's a skin:Focus on the effort, time, and creativity put into it to judge if I should diamond.
- If it's a blog:Read the whole thing thoroughly and see it's points of interest to judge if I should diamond.
- If it's a mod: Download the mod or watch several videos on it to judge if I should diamond it.
- If it's a server: Either ask around or actually play on the server to judge if I should diamond.
- If it's a texture pack: watch videos or play with the texture pack on to judge if I should diamond.
You will notice that none of those examples had "Diamond it because I like the person" in them.
I hope you learned an important lesson in diamonding, Next time don't diamond for the
person, Diamond for the work.
To conclude,I have one question to ask you, Should you diamond?
