How to Summon any Cat in Minecraft

Now to do most of these commands you are going to need a command block. Now if you don’t know what this is look it up.

But to get a command block all you need to do is: /give @p minecraft:command_block 1

Just copy and paste that into chat and hit enter.

Now you have a command block copy and paste the commands listed to get the cat you want.

How to summon a basic Cat

Summon Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0

The first part of this command tells the game what you want to do. The second word “Ozelot” tells the game what mob you want to spawn and “Ozelot” means cat if you did not notice that. The last part “~0 ~1 ~0” tells the game were you want to spawn the mob. So “ ~” means relative to the spot of where the command was given. The three numbers given are the X Y and Z coordinates.  You can remove the “~” and put in coordinates that will make the mob spawn using the world coordinates. Just make sure to have spaces in between the different numbers but only 1 space multiple spaces can mess-up the command.

Now the command listed above will spawn a wild Ozelot, which is not tamed and will run from you. To spawn a cat that will act like a normal cat (This means the cat will follow you around) go to the section labeled “Spawning your Cat”.

Different skins for Cats

These commands will only change the outward appearance of the cat. They will still act like wild Ozelots. Meaning they will run from you.

Wild Cat:  /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:0}

Spawning your Cat

Now you can summon these cats but they will behave like wild cats without a owner Id tag. Now Pre 1.8 you could just put your Ingame name in here, but after 1.8 the cats owner Id will work off of the New player Id system. Now to find your player Id, go into your Minecraft saves folder and find a map. This map need to only of been played only by yourself and you played on it in the full release of 1.8. Now go in to the folder and find a folder named “playerdata” in that folder you will find one file. The name of this file will be your Player Id, copy the name of the file. Then you can use it to summon a cat that belongs to you. Now we are going to be adding a tag called “OwnerUUID:”. This tag will specify to the cat who is its owner.  Put your player name after the colon with no spaces.

 The first example has my player id in it as an example. Do note that if you do not put your exact player id in here the cat will not behave corectly.

Tuxuedo Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:1, OwnerUUID:d9c51448-cb25-4663-ab59-ca6296288488}

Wild Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:0, OwnerUUID:Your Player ID goes here}

Tabby Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:2, OwnerUUID: Your Player ID goes here}

Siamese Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:3, OwnerUUID: Your Player ID goes here}

Sitting Cats

Now you may be wondering why you would want to spawn in a Cat that is sitting. Here is the reason, a cat cannot move when they are sitting. Therefore, where you spawn them in is where they are staying.
Example of a Sitting Cat

Wild Cat:  /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:0, Sitting:1}

Tuxuedo Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:1,Sitting:1}

Tabby Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:2,Sitting:1}

Siamese Cat: /summon Ozelot ~0 ~1 ~0 {CatType:3,Sitting:1}
