Many of you new members of the community probably see level 100s like Disco_ and wonder how they get so much exp. This guide will try and help you level up fast.

What is EXP, and how do you get it?
First off, you need to learn what exp is, and how to gain exp in the most basic form:
You get experience points from Diamonds, Views, Comments, Votes on a server, Favourites, and Downloads; a side moderator confirmed for me that Subscribers do not give direct experience.
The way to get experience is to post things: Projects you've created, Skins or Texture Packs you've designed, Servers you're working on, Mods or Plug-ins you've developed, and Blogs you've written. You do NOT get experience from forum posts.
TIP: Do not take other's work and claim it as your own and then post it upon Planet Minecraft. If you are discovered and reported, even if you have 1000000 downloads, a server moderator will remove the post or ban you, which will remove all levels of experience gained from that post. So don't.

Take time with your upload:
Your upload is very important. We want to wow our viewers wiith our creativity and skill. Take your time in designing your first post: Texture packs should follow their theme and have lots of screenshots; Skins should have some epic shading and beautiful colors; blogs should be nicely formatted along with awesome content; projects should be good quality and have some interesting screenshots alongside it; and mods should be creative and different, and easy to use in-game.
A quick way to earn experience is to make a build, skin, or blog and post it. Don't forget to add Download links for Projects and if the build is good you will hopefully get downloads, which give 2xp each. Here's the experience chart, and I hope this helped:

Exp Table:
One view = 1 xp
One comment = 1 xp
One server vote = 1 xp
One download = 2 xp
One favourite = 2 xp
One diamond = 5 xp
And just for uploading a project, you get 5 xp because of the Auto-Diamond <3

*Servers can be a great way to gain experience if it becomes popular and is well-presented* (I'm currently developing one here: "StealthNetwork" | RP Prison |*

Level Guide:
You can find the level guide here: www.planetminecraft.com/members/levels/

Be active in the community :
Once you have uploaded a project to the website, it is a good idea to have a look at other people's posts in the same area. Comment, give a diamond, and be generous. Especially the lower level characters will see this and feel greatful, and might do that on your post in return; hence, exp. Even if they do not, then you are still being a good member of the community and making everyone feel welcome.

Update the project if you have something new to add:
After 24 hours of your post being up, it will have definitely been lost in all of the other projects on the website, unless of course it does well and get's on the "What's Hot" tab. If you do genuinely have an update, then you can use the Update Log to pass on new information, or so old viewers can see the new changes to the product. You can do this once a day, I believe, but it is not ethical, and I suggest only using the Update Log when you actually have a change to the project, since spamming of updates can indeed result in the temporary ban of your account, or deletion of the post. My message is that you should not use the update system purely for gaining xp. Make sure there is a valid reason to update it so that it benefits people viewing, or else it goes directly against the regulations of PMC.

Tags and Keywords:

Tags and Keywords are also another valuable thing to use to bring in viewers and gain more exp. This is what people search to find your upload. It again isn't exactly ethical, but you can use the names of the highest level people on the website and add them to your Tags section, so that some of their viewers will be redirected to you. Sneaky, eh?

Specialization (Optional):
If you do get bigger, it is important to think of a specialization - are you going to just do projects, are you going to make Skins and Textures Packs, are going to always make mods, or are you going to be the blogger? Some people's skills fall all over the spectrum, and this is okay; it can even be an advantage - you do not have to just be one of these types of uploaders. If you want to, upload a project, a skin, a texture pack, a blog, and a mod ... if you get that done, I salute you. -.-

Thank you for reading, and enjoy!
I really hope it helped some of you guys, and f you did find the post helpful, don't forget to leave a diamond and a favourite. If you didn't, please tell me why in the comments.
Make sure to check out my fundraising project for my developing server; should be good. Thanks, all.
