Endurance
If you have found this book, then you are in a dire situation! I am Steve, explorer of the world and builder of the realm! In this book remains the ways to endure the wildlife you may or may not have fallen into. This book features how to get materials, build a habitat, and hunt/plant food! Let your adventure begin!

Components
(Material and Items)

To get material to build a home or slay mobs, you will have to punch wood or gather wooden objects that can be easily seized. Make a crafting table, then craft a pickaxe using the table. Go into a cave and mine 20 blocks of stone. Go to your crafting table and craft all necessities that will be needed on your journey (a shovel, sword, hoe, pickaxe, [/size]axe, and furnace). In the cave mine any ore you come across, mostly iron and coal. When you have found these 2 items, place down your furnace and put them in their designated spots. The more iron the better to make armor and tools. Soon enough you will be able to go to lava level and gather diamonds, but remember to be careful around lava!

Material can come in all sorts of ways! Craft some shears' and cut off the wool from a sheep. Now you have enough to make a some blankets and a pillow, using an iron needle if you need! Bark, tree sap and sticks are all part of a tree, and are all identified as material! Even water and lava. Water and lava can also make obsidian or cobblestone!

Food

You must be hungry gathering all those components, yeah? Well, it was worth it! Grab your sword, whatever kind (wooden, stone, iron, diamond),and some armor. Venture out but don't go too far, you must have your base in sight or some way to know where it is.When you hear or see an animal, approach it slowly, a sword hidden. At the right time, take out your sword and kill the creature. Cook it in your furnace and your food will be ready!

Are your vegetarian? Cause there's another way to get food! Clear some grass and you will get some seeds, occasionally. Grab your hoe and go onto flat ground. Tilt the grass and plant the seeds. Check regularly to water the plant and maintain the correct amount of sunlight. When the plant is at full height, harvest it. In addition, you can find mushrooms to make into soup. Remember a mushroom needs a dark area to grow, so no sunlight!

You can also force a cow's utters to get milk to drink. Another option is to milk a mooshroom's utters to get stew. Remember to put a bucket underneath a cow to get the milk and a bowl underneath a mooshroom to get stew!

Habitat

You have two choices, to go above or below!

Cave Accommodation
For an underground or mountain side home go to a cave and (if not covered) cover it with the closest material you can find...dirt.Since the world of Minecraft denies some laws of human world physics, the dirt will stay put. Also, cover any entrances to branches that lead to other caves, to get safety from other mobs. This habitat is ideal when monsters trot the lands above or at the side of a hill in the dead of night. When morning comes you are ensured of some safety!

Tree Abode
To make a base in the sky use sharp, thick twigs and jab it into the bark of a tree. Keep doing this, using the stubs of wood, or twigs, until you can get up to a branch. Mobs are smart enough to use a ladder, but using twigs is a lot harder, and so mobs will not come up to your home. On the branch gather some bark and make a safe platform, using sap resin as a substitute for glue. Be careful at all costs, using balance, or else you will break your leg! When the platform is complete, tear off more bark and make a wall, the roof won't be needed as the leaves above will cover you, but if you want you can cover the top too and make a roof. This base well come in handy to be protected by hostile mobs, but be aware of skeletons when building at night!

Techniques

There are many directions to make Minecraft survival easier.

Flowing water and lava going in the same direction can create cobblestone. Make this so you don't have to go underneath Minecraftian land to get cobblestone!

Water poured upon lava can make obsidian. If you do this you won't have to go down to lava level and risk getting slain by a mob, or 'drowning' in lava!

To get water to drink when you are thirsty, check for salt in water by ponds, lakes, and oceans. If there is no salt then you can drink the water, cause it's fresh!

Escape

There are two methods to escape whatever situation you landed into.

From your journey, you have traveled short distances to get material and a home, but now your adventure ends. You may have gathered some material called redstone, this has two uses for escape!

If you want to make a radio to communicate with the nearest source of humanity, you will need these materials: redstone, a button, an ingot of iron, and a pickaxe. First you should hammer the ingot of iron into two long needles, using the pickaxe. Then use the excess iron to form a triangular pyramid, after that poke holes with the pickaxe. Power the pyramid with redstone and connect the end of the redstone trail to the button. Hold the button down and wait for the sound waves to pass into a receiver.Your radio is successful!

To navigate your way back home gather some redstone, an ingot of iron, sand, a furnace (that is powered with coal), sap resin, and a pickaxe. First of all, cut out 2 circles (approximately or exactly the same length) and a circular wall (that can surround the circles). Sketch out the directions of North, East, South, and West on one of the circles. Remember this sentence, Never Eat Sour Watermelons. Next, grab your furnace and put sand inside to make glass. As with the iron, cut a circle. Now use the extra iron to make a needle that will fit in the circle with the directions. Finally, assemble all the parts. Attach the clear iron circle to the circular wall using sap resin. Put the circle with the directions a little way apart from the clear circle but inside the wall. Install the needle on the circle with directions, also inserting the sap resin as glue. Lastly, glue the glass on top of the circular wall. Now find your way back home using the compass!

A Bit Further

You can always continue your adventure like I did. The first step to doing that is to go deeper! In a cave, you might have found a solid substance called obsidian. If you have 14 blocks you are ready to go, if not you will have to find this ore. Put 4 blocks on the bottom. At each side, edge put 4 more blocks stacked. Now cover up the shape to make a portal. Grab flint and steel, ignite the portal, and your ready to go on your trip. Step into the portal and you will land in the underworld, identified as the nether. Loot is always in the structures, and the dimension is mainly to get building blocks...like quartz.

There is another dimension where you are welcome, but not invited. In ravines, you will find a lot of stone brick (mossy, broken, or normal). The stone brick structure is called a stronghold, and if you venture far enough, there will be a portal in the ground. Remember to bring 12 Eyes of Enders, acquired from combining enderpearls blaze powder. The portal will have 12 empty slots, that is where the Eyes of Enders will go. After all the eyes have been put into its designated spot, the portal will activate. Jump in the space like substance you see before your eyes and you will land into the world of space and block. The mother of the End (as called by our ancestors) holds the Ender Dragon, protector of the land. Slay her with all your might and you will get a numerous amount of XP and an Ender Egg. The universe within the dimension has many more adventures to await you. Like the end city and islands of mysteries!

The End

You have traveled far in the Minecraft world and depths of this book. These are the last words I will write for your journey. Good luck! -Your friend, Steve!

This blog is not an actual survival blog about Minecraft, more like a mix of survival between Minecraft and real life! So if your looking up how to survive, better go Google it! On another note I was a finalist in the contest, what what!?
