The Server section on Planet Minecraft gets a new submission onto it almost every 5 minutes.
Now that , is crazy. If you put a huge amount of work into a server , you don't want it to be slowly being nudged down people's screens by the next "KitPVP" or "Minigames" server. That is why you should follow the following tips. P.S Most of this is common sense , yet some players lack it *teehee* :3
1) Firstly , advertise your name before you advertise and release the server. Make a catchy name that sticks with you across ALL social platforms , then make it known. Upload YT videos , make builds on PMC and make friends (VERY important). Make sure that you aren't posting a server on yet another lvl 1 account that somebody has made to just advertise their server.
2) Secondly , the reason your server is being knocked down (on the server list ) , is becuase it is currently updating . So , getting players purely from PMC is useless. Use everything at your disposal , post on the minecraft forums , post on any server website , make youtube videos , make your players make youtube videos. Be seen , otherwise people won't see you.
3) Thirdly and finally , Be unique , and if you aren't unique , change. Doing an idea that has already been done is not going to get you any players. To be unique , create a new minigame , create a new gamemode. Make something that people can ONLY find on your server.
You may say I can't talk as I have not posted any server , but posting Minecraft Servers works in exactly the same way as Internet Marketing.
