I was looking at the list of Warden resource packs and was surprised to see we have Gigachad and Shrek, but we don't have Slenderman yet!? Well now we do!
De-facto Credits
Firstly I want to start off by letting you know I've had direct inspiration (poor way of wording it) for the textures and audio from the Widdy's Wardens + resource pack, namely using the textures as a basis to make the slenderman model. I'm not that great at doing this kind of thing from scratch, so having a pre-existing thing I can completely transform is very helpful and I sincerely hope this isn't breaking any rules.
The terrifying ambience / audio is from three things: That resource pack (Seriously, go check it out - It's really, really good!), Peter Hont's "Astray Archipelago" from the Minecraft: Dungeons soundtrack, and Slender: The Eight Pages.
All of the audio used has been completely transformed via editing through Audacity, combining it with vanilla MC sounds and those three aforementioned sources, however despite this I should make it clear I obviously do not own the source bits used to make the sound contained in this pack but otherwise as far as I can tell it's transformative and thus counts as fair use? Anyway, other than that it's a whole different thing!
A little extra bit: To figure out formatting of the resource pack along with learning how many Warden sounds there are and whatnot, this pack actually educated me in that little journey of putting a long-dead creepypasta character into Minecraft - Tworden - Yes it's Twomad as a warden and it's funny go check it out lol
Anyway, the stuff changed is as follows:
- The warden's texture has been updated to look like not-so-slender-man complete with the white mask, red tie, and suit! (Obviously)
- The warden's ranged attack beam is now the Operator symbol variating between white and black (O with an X going through it)
- A majority of the warden's sounds have been modified, this can range from deep bassy bellows coming from the caves, to the infamous radio static everyone knows from Slender: The Eight Pages layered on top of the warden roaring at you because you dun goofed.
- Sculk shriekers have been made approximately 98% more terrifying and 12% more bone-chilling, find out for yourself! :D
- The warden has been renamed to the "Slenderward" in en_US.json, subtitles have also been adjusted to fit the atmosphere.
That's all! Enjoy :)
