For some reason the role for poison arrow skeletons needed to be fulfilled by an entirely new mob even though these guys already existed.

It’s because either the mossy skeletons were potentially created by the orb of dominance shard, or the fact that the bogged is a more unique concept and making a new mobs allows for more variety in textures.

The Bogged is a bit different - it has less health, can't turn into strays in powder snow, and takes longer time between attacks. The skeletons with poison-tipped arrows were just placeholders in the trials, and now they show up in swamps, unlike before when skeletons with tipped arrows didn't spawn there.
