Make sure the following settings are turned ON under Options/Video Settings/Quality

Emissive Textures: ON

These mob variants all can be renamed to their appropriate skin and can spawn naturally.
The pack is formatted in a way that allows for easy creation of addons!

For some reason any allay other than the default texture one, appears completely black. Any idea of why this could be?

Try restarting the game and launcher, as well as making sure you have the required mods for Optifine or EMF/ETF and options turned on for the pack to work
