As a Rachel Summers fan, I struggle to love Jean Grey when she's not written by Louise Simonson. But this costume is undeniably fantastic so after years of putting it off, I've finally made a Jean skin. Anyway, Jean is a fascinatingly well written and nuanced character who has had years upon years of incredible development as a morally ambiguous carrier of Xavier's dream. If Jean does something she does not feel bad about it and I have a lot of respect for that so fair enough.

Russel Dauterman, king of X-Design gave us this beauty at a Hellfire Gala but then we got a modified design to carry on as a mainline costume, which was incredibly smart because despite Jean's incredibly longrunning status she doesn't have a lot of great costumes besides Phoenix... and as a Rachel fan I can't give Jean the Phoenix Force without killing a part of my soul.
