The Maneki Neko, or beckoning cat, is said to bring good fortune and is a well known figure seen around the world. There are many folk stories about the meaning and history of the cat, and different colors as well as hand positions and coin text mean different things. For example, a black maneki neko is said to ward off evil spirits, green brings health, pink attracts love, and the calico is the luckiest of all!
