Hello there,
Here is my first tutorial, this one will be about one type of build which isn't very common. The ship, I will try to make it easy to anyone, but to success on this you need to know the base and to understand how to do your own ship.

Let's START !

Picture 1, 2 and 3 "Plan":

If you want to begin in a easy manner, take a plan of a ship you know on internet, try to find all the plans.

Picture 4, 5 and 6 "Highlight":

Open them on a image processing software, I actually use Photofiltre because he is easy to use. Then re-size your plans to the right size for your build. When it's done your image will be pixelised, you just need to highlight the line of pixel.
Tadaaah, you have your plan, now you can do your ship on minecraft. You just need to start by those line of pixel.

Picture "Preview":

Wooow, you are skilled. Look at what you've done, this is the best begin for your first ship !

Picture 7, 8 and 9 "On Minecraft":

Here is in red the line you did on your plan. But now ? What will you do.... Read the rest and keep calm.

Picture 10 "Hull":

Now you need to do the hull, all in curve. But care about those curve, you need to do it right. (Look at Picture 13).

Picture 11 and the next one "Sail":

On the first picture, it's the same as the hull (Look at Picture 13).
After it here is the side face of the sail. Don't do the sail too much curved, it's not natural and real. Try to do it like mine (But keep it personal) or like you prefer.

Picture 13 "The Curve":

Conceive it like a circle, at The diagonal, there is not so much block, there is more on the left, right, up and down. You need to it always like this for have the better ship you want. But don't do it like a circle, it's an ellipsis.

I will try to do more tutorial about other type of build.
I'm french so my english isn't very good.

Hope you enjoy this tutorial.

I have what I call Rule Zero: the curve is everything. Hulls can't be flat, decks can't be flat (usually, there are expetions), sails gotta be billowy. Similar to what you got here!

i noticed you added a very dramatic flare at the stern there, which I just find somewhat unusual. The stern gallery on the good ol Belle (love the ship, huzzah for the French and their 16pdr frigates), and her fellow frigates don't tend to do that historically. I think, with all respect due to a fellow shipbuilder, you might have mis-interpreted the "headboard" of the stern furnishings as a flare in the deck, not a horizontally round and vertically flat end to the ship. Same seems evident in the sides of the stern gallery. I also noticed you capped the stern off with a second cabin, which is also very ahistoric.

just wants to mention that as a helpful bit of criticism.

Hey,
thx for your comment, I understand it.
But It's normal, I started this build like the historic one but I needed this build for a mmorpg server, and the fact is the boat was much larger.
So for the gameplay I did it like that.
And I did this boat 2 time because I lose it one time, so I did it again a little bit serious less.

(Hope my reply is in good english).
Thx again for your comment :).

Your English is good sir, no worries!

I understand; the demands of a more fantasy-esque server can require such things. I just thought it was worth mentioning; I should have realized the context of the build, my friend! Despite the minor historical inaccuracy, it does like quite good indeed.

You do good for my favorite frigate. You have a total mastery in conveying the Belle Poule's wonderful hull shape, especially evident in your expert construction of the bow there (It's hard to nail that funny shape she has, the flourish up to the bow there). It's truly incredible, good sir, and I complement the mastery of your understanding of the era's hull shape and construction.
