Hello hello!

I don't normally post builds but I really liked the idea of this contest and wanted to participate in it!
More for fun and a challenge than anything else.

The starter map made me think of a fancy skyblock plot so I wanted to go for something airy and cloudy. But first, I wanted to work out a statue that was going to hold up all that was above him. I went for some type of knight in an Atlas inspired pose. My idea for this knight was that he is the guardian of these floating islands and ancient ruins.

While building, the palette I used was mostly made out of the blocks from the Nether update. I took this as a chance to be able to use those blocks and create something whimsical with them. I thought of the prismarine as an interesting substitute for grass. I've always loved that slow animation from green to blue on it!

Some progress images. I didn't have many in the end since I got into the flow of building.

I wanted to stick with the falling water theme from the original starter map. At first the glass crystals poking out from the island were white and later changed to blue to stand out a bit more.	About at the middle point after finishing the first flying whale and little house with clouds circling it.

The swirling clouds were pretty enjoyable to create but sometimes would pop out of the chunk making it a bit difficult!

With the ruins, I wanted them to look broken but not overgrown since they are floating. I had a lot of fun creating the mess of it all with the clouds going through them.

And those flying whales? They are just playing in the clouds. :)

Even though I don't post builds here all that often, I don't mind some feedback!
