S.S Continental (Fictional Red Star Line Ship)

This Ship is a little side project I've been working on. The ship is Lusitania and Olympic Class inspired.

Disclaimer: The Deck Houses and the lifeboat launching davits are not my original work they were done by Northsships I used them off of his Mauretania Exterior Model and he said I could use them. The bow and the stern I used The RMS Olympic to form the shape though I do not remember which map or whose it was that I used. I did not actually use the parts off the Olympic I just used it to help me shape the bow and the stern.

Other than those few things I made this all on my own. There is some interior but for the most part it is exterior only.

The S.S Continental originally named The S.S Southerland was built by Harland And Wolf Laid down in 1933 and launched in 1934 and finally completed in 1935, Three years after its sister The S.S Westerland . Unlike its sister Southerland never got to serve The Red Star Line since just before it got to enter service The Red Star Line went out of business in 1935 since then it would serve the Holland American Line until 1941 she was then converted into a troop ship to serve in WWII, however, she proved un suitable for the duty due to her enormous size and lack of evasive maneuverability making her an easy target gor german U-boats and she was then converted into a Medical Ship in 1942 for the duration of the war. In 1945 she was returned to the Holland American Line. In 1966 she was sold to the French Line and renamed S.S Continental and continued to serve as an ocean liner. In 1973 Continental was sold to the Cunard Line then underwent a refit and was painted teal green and served as cruise ship then it was taken out of service in 1982 where it sat laid up until 1984 when it was sold to the breaker yard in Faslane Scotland. Though this would never be. On her way there the ship was boarded by pirates who subdued the crew, took over the ship and set her on course for the hidden country of Addellon. These "Pirates" were actually hired to by the Addellonian shipping line The Prime Luxury Lines who were aware of its intended destination. Once The Continental arrived in the Addellonian Port it was painted back to its original Red Star Line Colors and now serves as a cruise ship carrying passengers across the country. The Continental and The Westerland were part of a class of the Red Star Line called The Red Star Super Liners. A total of four were intended to be built. The Biggest Red Star Liners ever made. Though The Southerland / Continental and The Westerland ended up getting built. the Continental Has 5 Smokestacks and the Westerland has 4 Smokestacks. Another one of each was on the drawing board The Easterland and The Northerland but then The Red Star Line sold out before they could be built.
