This project was originally started in the late months of 2013 as a hobby solo build by myself. Over the last few years there have been countless changes and challenges; 2015 saw the project come to an impasse where I had run out of ambition and ideas to keep going with the build - and for some months, the map stood empty... With the thanks to AstarothArcaine's' dedication and assistance, the project was given a new lease of life! We had the idea to make a world to inhabit and enjoy, with stories and adventures at every turn. And that is how The Chronicles of Evalaw came to be.
This is an ongoing project with hundreds of hours of work spent getting just this far, and we still have a long way to go before we can hope to release the project for public use. So please understand things are subject to change!
Welcome to The Chronicles of Evalaw: Caverns of Amaranth
COE: Caverns of Amaranth is an ambitious project dedicated to creating a unique, immersive and memorable roleplaying experience.
What is it that makes Amaranth a unique project? Well, This is (probably) the first of its kind; A large scale fully immersive map entirely designed within the vast subterranean caverns, steering away from your typical fantasy world setting and gameplay experience.
COE will feature a totally unique and custom created world space in which players will be able shape, explore and roleplay within. Players will have the opportunity to create and develop their own unique characters from a myriad of races that challenge you to try something different from traditional Humans, Orcs, Dwarves and Elves.
Our aim as a project is to give people something different to try, and encourage breaking the traditional expectations of roleplay servers.
~~~~A summary of Evalaw~~~
At its' heart the story of Evalaw is of a once great realm in decay: its' inhabitants attempts to restore their lands and lives after the cataclysmic war between the old gods and the new, soon to be known as The Time of Sundering.
The server itself takes place four centuries after the events of The Sundering, in a corner of the lands known as the Caverns of Amaranth, deep beneath the region of Lost Elysiom.
We are currently seeking to recruit talented builders onto the team with the hopes that the added support will greatly improve the world map. All builders who wish to join the team should remember that we are seeking creative individuals who are able to work both alone and as part of a team to create the world space and individual elements.
We are looking for terraformers, organics artists and structure builders, all will play a vital role in fleshing the world out and creating the best environment possible. There are many areas of the map that are in development and many projects to be worked on throughout the coming months.
Here is a brief list of requirements we are looking for in builders:
~Must be over the age of 16.
~Looking to work on something challenging and different from usual build projects.
~Capable of working from concept art and working from inspirational boards.
~In a position to commit to assisting with the project build.
~Experience with role-playing: whether it is tabletop, forum based, or MMORPG.
~Provide us with proof of previous build experience.
~Have a good grasp of the English language.
~Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
~Should enjoy researching and developing build concepts.
~Willing to provide constructive and relevant ideas and suggestions.

Good evening, so having spent a lot of time umming and awing about modpacks, mods and custom content - Evalaw is stepping steps to be a fully self contained modpack server, we're in very VERY early days in regard to this - as I am by no stretch of the imagination a coder, however a friend has kindly started assisting with getting custom blocks accessible to the server build! Because of this, the build has been put on a 1.8.9 and we're awaiting stability for 1.9 to really get custom mods and models all onto the server build!
In other news, I have taken the time to strip down the old information and give the project page some up jazzing up. It's been way too long and I know, I know I have neglected keeping everything up to date around here. I've finally settled with the idea that this build is going to need more hands if it's every likely to see completion and so I think it's time I try to seek help from others. ^^;
I'm not holding my breath but all I can say is, as much as I would love to spend the next three years building, I would really love to get this build completed and actively used!
