The Valar Project, what is it precious?
It's a huge Lord of the rings/ The hobbit themed server with a gigantic map as the current one(s) I am making for it. We have our very own Lord of the rings mod called Awaken Dreams. The mod adds hundreds of new blocks and there will eventually be many new mobs aswell (and a bunch of other cool features too). The server is meant to become a RP (roleplaying) server and with the mod this gives the option for you as a player, to experience Middle-earth in minecraft with all your favorite heroes and the amazing creatures you know from the films and books.

The server is gonna contain 6 map sections of Middle-earth. Each of these will be 25k x 25k. so in the end it will be 75k x 50 k and contain the most famous parts of Middle-earth which you know from the books, maps and movies.
The reason there's gonna be 6 maps is because Worldpainter has a limit to how large worlds can be and it consumes a lot of RAM when you begin to go over 30k x 30k maps. There have been made lots of calculations so the maps will blend perfectly together and the scale will remain the same size.
The scale is very large and I do believe it is the largest seen in Minecraft so far. According to Worldpainter it would take 4h and 53m to walk from the western edge of the map to the eastern edge. and 3h and 16m to walk from the northern edge to the southern edge. however this is without the calculation of mountains, rivers and other obstacles on your way so we estimate it will take around 6h to walk from the western edge to the eastern edge. and around 4h and 30m to walk from the northern edge to the southern edge

*all maps are made with an overlay image so it's 100% like the map. The maps are based on the MERP (Middle-Earth Roleplaying boardgame) map & Lindëfirion's maps.

Expansions!
When the 6 maps are all done and starting to be put together there will be atleast 3 expansions to the map.

Expansion 1:
another 25k x 25k map which includes Umbar and the lands to the south and east of it

Expansion 2:
a 75k x 25k map expansion to the north so the northern edges of Forlindon, Forochel and Forodwaith will be extended

Expansion 3:
This is a more complex expansion with 6 new sections to the map. so in all it will extend with 75k x 50k again. This will add the lands of Khand, the great dune sea, Far Harad, Bellarkar and many of the other lands south of Umbar and east of Mordor.

This means that when the world is 100% done with all the map sections it will be around 100k x 150k
