This is a smaller reconstruction by me and JCHelland which we finished in one evening.
The Library of Celsus was a public ancient library located in the roman Ephesos, former capital of the province Asia.
It was built as a memorial and a mausoleum for the proconsul of Asia, Tiberius Iulius Celsus Polemaeanus, by his family between 117 and 225 A.D.
The building itself consisted out of a huge hall, that probably served as a reading room, and also out of circulating porticus behind which the shelves of the scrolls were situated.
The 30 shelves contained roughly 12.000 scrolls whereby the Library of Celsus was rather big (as a comparison: first similiar big libraries after the end of the ancient world came up to the end of 16th century).
How long the library was in use is unknown, nevertheless the building was integrated as a courtyard in a tenement in the 3rd or 4th century and later was used as a facade for a fountain.

If you have other ideas I would always appreciate it cause I am always looking for potential buildings I could do ;)
