I understand the concept of shading, and I've done it in builds in the past, but I've found that I personally prefer a more solid color, unless a certain material actually warrants some noise, or messiness. That's not to downplay those who like to texturize everything. It's just not my personal style choice :)

As much as I'd love to, there have been a lot of peeps out there who like to steal builds and post them as their own, so I've had to quit letting peeps download my builds... I wish I could let people load them up in a world and fly around them themselves... It's a shame, really.
