This is a Bukkit plugin that I've been working on for a while and I think that It has a cool original feature that people would like. It allows people with bukkit servers to animate their mtod, server icon, version name, and player list.
The bukkit page with all the information and downloads and such is here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/player-count-message/, or the obligatory curse page http://www.curse.com/bukkit-plugins/minecraft/player-count-message
I don't want to have to manage two downloads so I won't upload the file to Planet Minecraft, Bukkit has a good system for files. All the tutorials are linked from the main page on how to use the plugin and hopefully you will like it. All the documentation on how ot use it can be found on the bukkit page. If you have a cool example of your player count message, send it to me and I may load it up as one of the images show-casing the plugin.
Note, this plugin depends on Protocl lib, found here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/protocollib/
This plugin should be compatiable with Spigot, older versions of craftbukkit, and anything else that that runs off bukkit as long as it supports protocl lib.
Here is the tutorial on how to use the plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/player-count-message/pages/a/usage/tutorial/

the great bungee update,
This update includes...
- Adding a bunch of tags (see here)
- One of the tags is a clock that counts in real time. Do NOT put the clock on a line with scroll animation.
- Added bungee support (yay, I only lied about the release date initally)
- added 3 new options in the config, players-and-staff, guestname, and world (inspired by @Sora37 You're awesome with new ideas).
- Added options to edit ALL the config with the /pcm command
Don't panic about the four files
The download is a zip file containing the PlayerCountMessage v4.3 compiled with java 1.7.0_71 and java 1.8.0_25 You can extract the files and chose whichever version of java your computer uses. If you're unsure, try 1.8.0_25 first, it's more recent. The download also include PlayerCountMessageBungee v4.3 compiled with java 1.7.0_71 and java 1.8.0_25. It needs the plugin AnimatedMOTD to work (see here).Instillation can be seen here, it's updated to include Bungee.
What the heck is bungee?
Don't know what bungee is, I didn't either until about 2 months ago. Don't worry, just don't use the PlayerCountMessageBungee, leave it in the zip file and let it feel rejected as it wastes away in your downloads folder muhahahahahahahaha.Future Plans
I am still working on the ability to localize this plugin in multiple languages, and making a video tutorial on how to use it as of the release. Don't expect them soon, but they are planned for the near future.Also...
