you find a strange living blob of void creeping around in an end city. it rears back to attack you and you slash it on instinct. the goop falls to the floor, motionless, slightly shimmering in shades of deep purple. ominous, but not outright dangerous. you scoop a good deal of the sludge into a spare flask, and continue looting the city.

when you get home, you try making a potion. water bottle, nether wart, and it's time to add the mystery slime. unlike every other potion you've made, you're not working off a recipe discovered by people who came before you. the strange viscous sludge gets infused in the awkward potion, turning it the color of the night sky. flecks of something glint in the light of the glowstone in your brewing room, and you begin to wonder whether this is a good idea.

the brewing stand slowly stops bubbling as it cools off. you're out of blaze powder. there's no way to know when the potion is done, so you hesitantly unhook it and take the potion out. a faint silver steam wafts out of the bottle, disappearing into the air. gathering your courage, you down a large swig of the potion. for science.

it tastes staticky. it feels like freezing and burning and standing in place, like flying and falling and standing at the base of something very large.
