We all think of fairies as sweet little people with magical abilities, playing in nature or being mischievous little tricksters. In Finnish folklore, while those kind of fairies do appear, there's also the keiju (or keijukainen), also known as fairies of death. Acting as psychopomps, these fairies follow the deceased to their grave, bringing the stench of death and decay with them.
Not much to say here, but yeah, I really have a lot of absences on this site.
