  We know many of you have been wondering about the progress on our long awaited server project, and we won't keep you wondering any longer. No, the server isn't cancelled, but we've certainly encountered some obstacles. We've just put out a new statement detailing these obstacles and how we plan to move forward.   Italia has been on indefinite hiatus for several months now, but we have all of the content from Italia saved and backed up for if we ever choose to return to the project. Recently, though, we've played around with the idea of making something else for people interested in Roman content, but I won't say much about it until we decide what, if anything, we want to do with it.

  It sure has been a while, but we made it just in time to have lots of new stuff again to show for the new year. Progress has been slow to say the least, but we're still making progress nonetheless.   We're currently having some issues with our website related to the domain, so for the time being the romecraft.org URL isn't currently working.
  
  We're looking into it and will hopefully have it resolved fairly soon. Resolving this issue might lead to us changing the platform in which we run our website, but we'll keep everyone posted on what we decide to do. The good news is the website is still accessible but only through a temporary link. Sorry for the inconvenience!

  Our good friends from Anglocraft have just put out a new featured project from their own historical RP server set in Dark Age England. The Welsh Palace Complex of King Elisedd ap Tewdwr which is done in full stunning detail with an overwhelming level of historical authenticity.   We've added an overall project progress bar at the top of the channels in our notification Discord and also on our website in the top left module if you're interested in seeing our general progress on getting things completed for server opening. Right now, we're at around 67% overall completion on the project.

  Hey everyone, sorry about us being so sluggish with new content recently. Thought I'd make an update post about what's been going on lately.
  
  Before anyone panics, we are absolutely still working on Antiqua Italia. We have however had a couple setbacks to our progress as of late due to a combination of factors.
  
  The first factor being our main development team had to take some time off in the last month from working on the project because our staff team has been stretched very thin in the last few months, mainly because we've had a hard time finding long-term builders who are willing to work within our requirements. We felt it was time for a much needed break after working on the server nearly non-stop, and doing so means we can ensure we maintain a high level of quality with our project. Secondly, our plugin developer unfortunately lost a significant amount of his progress on our custom plugins because of a computer crash, and while these plugins will still be made, it is still a setback nonetheless. On top of all this, our server itself that we use for development ran into some technical issues and that took us some time to resolve. Keep in mind that none of our assets were actually lost during any of these setbacks, but all of these combined factors means we were not able to meet our planned July 2020 release date.
  
  With that said, we are aiming for releasing the server within this year at the latest, but hopefully sooner then later. We are still working on the server, but it will just take time unless we can recruit more help who can be effective and cooperative with our vision, which would speed up the process greatly.
  
  Anyway, needless to say we'll have a devblog out when we've got more things to show. Early whitelist applications to join us when we do open are still up, so check that out if you're interested.

If you have a special question that can't be answered by the FAQ or guides, feel free to contact a staff member.
  
  For your character backstory keep in mind you cannot previously have been an officer in the legion or been a successful politician or anything like that. Basically, you have to start from the bottom rather then having previously held any sort of power.

We cant wait to see you all join us on the Antiqua Italia server in July. Your support really motivates us to build an awesome server for you guys.
  
  Our team has still been hard at work with builds, server planning and even some custom plugins now so we really haven't had as much time to do a devblog post since we're entering the crucial phases of getting this project ready to launch.

  This time some Roman velites face off against Libyan light cavalry. Experimented with a bit nicer backdrop on this one as well.

  After a bit of discussion, the staff have decided it best to rebrand our Romecraft: Italia RP server to a new title, Antiqua Italia. We will still be using the Romecraft name for our resource pack and PMC page, as well as to refer to our community, but the working title for our upcoming server will instead be Antiqua Italia. We're hoping that this name change brings broader appeal and sets this server apart from previous Romecraft servers as something new. We felt it was time to adopt a renewed image for the community to properly move forward and build something better than anything done before.

  Me and Father_Samuel made this pixel art scene of a Roman and Samnite facing off for Romecraft: Italia today, thought I'd show it off.
  
  Samuel did the basic shapes of the figures and I did the shading, details, and backdrop. First time we've really done proper pixel art outside of resource pack textures, let us know what ya think!

  Finally got the profile pic updated with the new armor stuff and a refreshing background of the Forum of Capua for the server. Here's also the original if anyone wants to look at it closer or use it for your own profile. Lots of forum pics right now, but we'll have more stuff to show off soon!
