Happy New Year Antiquans!
We're back once more after not being active again for quite a while. I am sure you all are tired of hearing excuses and we're very sorry for this, but many of the same reasons behind our previous periods of inactivity unfortunately are still holding back full speed production of this server.
While many aspects of the server have made considerable progress, we still have plenty of work to do. The primary element of the server which still suffers greatly from our setbacks is the building. Antiqua effectively only has one builder, and that's me. On rare occasions one or two others might come along to help for brief periods of time only to quickly lose interest or motivation, but for the past 4-5 months, the building aspect of Antiqua has essentially been a solo project. At the expense of making this post too personal, I have had an extremely hard time finding reliable help with the building and an even more frustrating time trying to figure out the best system to find, teach, and integrate new builders into our fold without them becoming overwhelmed, uninterested, or just plain uncooperative and unwilling to learn.
The staff has not been able to come up with a feasible solution to this problem, as taking volunteers on a individual basis has proved ineffective time and time again, and applications for building don't seem to really appeal to people, though we may have no choice but to try it again with some changes made.
I am less then enthusiastic about how long this server has taken to develop as it has now been over a year since we first announced we were working on this project. The bright side that I hope everyone will see that the wait will be well worth it in the end. As I'm sure you all can tell, our promise to release this server before the end of 2020 was not something we could achieve and at the current rate of development, I cannot even guarantee that this server will release within this year. I sincerely hope this does not end up being the case, but I don't feel it's right to make bold promises anymore.
But enough of the bad news, now for some good news. The good news is that the most important build of the project, Capua, has made some substantial progress since we last showed it off. Though I'm not comfortable showing some parts of it just yet as they lack the necessary details or finishing touches that I think make it appropriate to show off publicly. We haven't really done much in the way of modeling or other sides of development, but you might notice a new thing or two in the screenshots of the builds so look closely.
So with that said I think it would only be fair for me to show some stuff off to keep everyone's hopes high, so enjoy the screenshots!
