okay, great question, i used to ask people the exact same thing lol. theres a few reasons i can do this!

1. i wasn't always this fast, trust me. but a big reason for that was that i didn't actually /understand/ what i was doing. i didn't have a basis on my shading, just kind of did whatever i wanted in that moment on that part of that skin. SO, what i would say, is you /definitely/ want to practice honing in your shading style. you want to have rules you follow, ways you almost always shade certain things (such as the arms, legs, face, hair, and back of body) unless the lighting or texture calls for something different. EVEN when trying to make something with a more unique feature that can't keep your shading pattern exactly, however, you still want to try to stick to your rules as best you can. this helps you develop basically muscle memory for skin-making, so you don't have to think very hard about how to do each specific skin.

2. ive learned from some really talented skinners. even from the start i watched tutorials on youtube, then when i couldn't find any more of those for what i wanted/that fit my style, i started observing the skins of those i admired, asking them questions, seeing how they do certain things and trying to implement the things i like into my own skins. this is an art, and if you keep improving, you'll have more motivation to do it and enjoy it and therefore get out more content.

3. now this one may not be feasible for everyone, but... i spend a LOT of time doing this lol. lately ive been extremely locked in especially for skinfight and it's kind of taking up a majority of my free time rn. i would say this definitely helps in more than one way. it lets me get in a lot of practice (which makes me faster) and gives me plenty of time to put that practice into action.

TL;DR: know your style well, don't stop learning and improving, and spend time doing it
