If you're talking about mods or texture packs, CurseForge is probably the most popular option. You don't earn money directly but you earn points that you can exchange for Amazon or PayPal credit. Most modders like it because it allows you to make "money" off of your work while, at the same time, allowing users to download your content for free. Most people won't pay for mods/packs, and that's why content locked behind a Patreon paywall, for example, typically doesn't have many users (even if you do, mod reposting sites will eventually reupload it on their website for free anyway). If you like making Minecraft content, make it for the fun of doing so and not with the intent of selling it. If you end up making some money from your content from sites like CurseForge, that's great, but don't expect people to buy it upfront.
