Wouldnt it be easier to make a mod for 1.9.2 that removes the chunk loading system, rather than adding everything? Sorry if I am suggesting something stupid, I know nothing of code, but it seems sensible. .-.

Alrighty then. So, there appear to be plenty of people willing to help. Shall we get together in a skype call? Or put jobs to do on a trello? Slack? Discord?

I see you are using worldpainter. ^^ I too do enjoy using it, sometimes in combination with worldmachine, to make maps. If there is any way I can help out with the mapmaking aspect of all this, please do contact me, I would very much like to help.

I just decided to go to the recently updated skin page, for a quick look. Out of the 25, there were thirteen, just over half, skins I would classify as falling into the 'teen' category (pale colours, big eyes, generic hair, etc). Out of these, I would consider about six to be of low quality, though that is an opinion.

Perhaps most people just dislike the teen skins because of the bulk they appear in? They also seem to be made in large amounts, mass produced, one could even say, by some of the artists.

Could this argument between you lot simply be stopped by having some way to filter out the skins when going through them? I do not know how active the devs of this website are, but I doubt it would be that hard to add another 'teen skin' category, and a filter to leave it out.

Well... uh... I would gladly talk a little (or a lot) or game or something. I end up rather bored a lot of the time. PM me your skype or steam if you wish to do the aforementioned then, I suppose.

I am able to run shaders on my mac. It too use a macbook. However, they are very low quality and laggy, and it took me an eternity to get it working, so I would suggest that if you want to make pictures and such, you use chunky instead. It takes longer, but ends up much nicer than screenshots.

10/10 I did it, not randomly. Hope you can conclude something interesting from the results. Do remember that it isnt all to representative of too large a chunk of the mc community really... Only the few that browse PMC or its forums.

Building upon what Rawkstarscotty said, you could do the same while only letting yourself use the wood that comes from the optional chest spawned upon world generation. Though that may be a little too hard.

You could also try to play in only a small, resource rich chunk of custom terrain in the middle of a void. A little like skyblock but a much bigger chunk of land and no cobble farming and all that, just so that it stays survivaly and not to grindy.

Edit: Was in a hurry while writing this, I shall continue in more detail. The idea was, as said above, to have a floating island or landmass. At first, it would be like normal survival. However, as soon as you begin to run out of things to do, you will also have run out of resources. If you are playing with other people, then this would probably end up sparking a small resource war or at least a panic for people to get all ores they can get their hands on before others get them. This would take away from the exploration a little, but if there were multiple islands/landmasses made up of different biomes, ores, etc each it would still be interesting. Especially if they were very far apart, as you would have to look for them then.

Another idea for a handicap similar to Rawkstarscotty's would be that you are only allowed one of each tool. This would make anvils a must-have, and make the unbreaking enchantments very useful.

Yet another edit: .-. If you wanted to, I could try make a make like the one described above in worldpainter for you.

Some textures like the wood tops and sides, or the tallgrass top and bottom, belong together as one really. Would a system to place them together be possible in the future too?

Turns out I deleted everything but a few gun textures, forty or so basic 16*16 textures of stone, dirt, etc and a companion cube texture. ;-; Maybe I can make some specifically for this though, it seems like an interesting idea.

I often end up making a handfull of textures, before losing interest in a pack. I would very gladly contribute any of these to a project such as this.

All the things you need are in the GUI folder in a texture pack, I think. The widgets file should edit the buttons and such, and there are 5 panorama files that you can edit in the title/background folder there. And all the inventory pictures are in the container folder there, as far as I know. Oh yea, and the whole GUI folder should be placed in the textures folder. I hope that helped.

Apparently they are planning on adding entity remodelling through resource packs in 1.9 though.

I too have not really been able to find a server on which I can build and do rp stuff in a factions environment, due to ridiculous amounts of people that enjoy destroying things for no particular reason. Therefore I would gladly join and help you with your server.
I would consider myself reasonably mature, and I have skype. I am also able to create skins, chunky renders and textures, and could possibly even make the server a worldpainter map. I can build quite alright, and know most of the minecraft mechanics very well, apart from some of the command block stuffs and a crafting recipe here and there. I live in Europe, and can usually come on sometime in the early evening.
