Should I start a SMP?question_answer
I want to start an SMP but a few things block my way:
1.Am I capable of of constantly running it?
2.Do I need more popularity?
3.all my friends are in boarding school
4No way of preventing hacks
5.different timezone to most people
6.No one helping me
I will add more stuff to this post later as I am in a hurry.

If you want to start one, but don't know if you'll actually enjoy being a server owner in the long run, and don't want to make a monetary commitment before getting a bit familiar with it, you could use a free hosting site. They have a lot of drawbacks, but they're free, and for small-scale servers they can be decent if you get a decent active playerbase.
but the most major drawback is keeping them running constantly
Indeed... You can still get several hours of uptimes with active members by giving everybody start access tho :)
