Popularity and Hotness

I know this question has probably been answered somewhere else, but I'm curious. How is the popularity and hotness of a submission calculated?

I believe this is something on Paril and Cyprezz know. The best I can do is:
Views + Diamonds + Favourites + Comments + Downloads = Popularity
Popularity / Time since posted = Hotness
If Hotness > Other submissions = On the pop reel
If Hotness < Other submissions = Not on pop reel
Views + Diamonds + Favourites + Comments + Downloads = Popularity
Popularity / Time since posted = Hotness
If Hotness > Other submissions = On the pop reel
If Hotness < Other submissions = Not on pop reel
The first answer is "I don't know".
The second answer is: typically, popularity would mean a total amount of points, and hotness would mean the amount of points obtained during the last x hours.
The second answer is: typically, popularity would mean a total amount of points, and hotness would mean the amount of points obtained during the last x hours.
This is best answer you can get from non-staff.
