My favorite Java mod would have to be MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod.
As someone who loves vanilla survival and building large bases and houses it's great to have a mod that gives me lots of choices for decoration and utility. MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod gives you an enormous list of appliances and furniture that (besides looking really cool) have lots of fun and unique features that make Minecraft just 'that' much better.
