I think it depends on which era. If we're talking the Old Republic Era I would probably say Revan and Malek from KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) and the Sith Trimunive (Traya, Nihilus and Sion) and lastly Darth Bane who established the rule of two. Darth Plagueis was really cool because he was Palpatine (Darth Sidious') master who nearly mastered life and death in the Force. Of course Maul and Tyranus stand out in the Prequels as well Vader and the Emperor in the Original Trilogy. It's probably the ones from the movies that people remember most. New Republic-wise (After Return of the Jedi) I would probably say Jacen Solo (AKA Darth Caedus, the son of Han and Leua) from the Legacy of the Force books as well as the Dark Lady Lumiya who also appeared in those novels. So it's really hard to say which Sith is best because there have been so many, but Vader, the Emperor and Maul and Count Dooku are probably the ones that people most remember. Sorry if this is long, I just wanted to share my knowledge of Star Wars, as well as give my thoughts on the subject.
Honestly, I'm fine with long comments like these. I'm not particularly very knowledgeable on the EU, (specifically the old Legends timeline) but I try to do my research on it every now and then. I have access to a lot of the comics thanks to Marvel Unlimited, but all those juicy novels aren't on the list of Marvel Unlimited content, so I feel pretty limited in terms of what stuff I can read. That's why it's nice to have videos about it and other people who can talk about it. That much SW content shouldn't just be ignored or forgotten even if it technically doesn't count as canon now. Without the EU Star Wars probably wouldn't have interested me as much as it does now.
That's very true. Personality I think that "Legends" is far superior to what we have now. I mean let's be honest, George Lucas NEVER wanted to make 7, 8 or 9 anyway, but he said that the books were more true to his vision. So to me as far as Star Wars goes, I always take George Lucas' word as law, and not Disney, even if they own it now. They may say "Legends" isn't canon, but to fans like me, it always WILL be canon, and the stuff that Disney makes is "Legends" as far as I'm concerned.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter to me what is technically canon. I mean, they can take it out of their canon , but that doesn't mean the stories don't exist anymore. Like, they still had an impact on many people. So tbh I'm not one of those people who only cares about what counts as canon these days. I was pretty upset when I realized Force Unleashed wasn't canon anymore, but I learned not to care. It will still always be one of my favorites. The only problem is that the Legends stories aren't being continued anymore. On the bright side Dark Horse has recently been given the rights to make to Star Wars comics again, but it's for their new canon, not to continue the old stories.
Yeah, I agree. The impact that all those Legends stories made will never be forgotten!

Ah, yes. My favorite is Darth Cheeseball.
That message wasn't for you, sorry
I'm not familiar with Tyranus or Revan. Most of my SW knowledge comes from the movies and the Clone Wars show.
Revan appeared in the Knights of the Old Republic games as well as the Old Republic series of games and novels.
Darth Tyranus is Count Dooku
Oh right. I always think of him as Count Dooku, it's a shorter, easier name for me to remember. "Tyranus" is almost a little cliche.
I understand. I also usually think of him as Count Dooku.
Darth Vader.
