Whats a good FREE video capture program?....not OBS...don't like it
Tried out OBS Studio, but it creates a weird window on playback...a clear frame within a frame?....also it creates lag on MC...which i never get.
Not really user friendly either i find....
lol...just tried Filmora and get the same lag/jitter...it must be something in the settings...
So any suggestions would be fabbo!!!

Radeon ReLive
streamlabs obs, best for twitch. Easy for beginners. Forgot to mention it automatically changes/optimizes settings based on your hardware. I have a bad laptop, I tried streaming a game with obs (didn't end well) and then I tried streamlabs obs and I streamed with less lag
Depends... what are you playing on?
think my system is okay...AMD Radeon HD 7800...AMD FX 6300 6 core processor...Java edition 1.14.4...Forge...just updated graphics card...i've got it a bit better....if i have OBS open and MC....i get this twitch and slight lag i don't get during normal play...still got a few more setting tweaks to try yet...
VLC can capture video, but you'd need something else to edit the recording.
VLC?....hmmm...worth a look
xSplit for sure. OBS is featureless compared to xSplit
Google......xSplit....alrighty...get back to ya
OBS is hard to use, but its probably the best free capture program, i tend to use display capture on top of game capture as it captures full screen that way, and i dont lag when using obs, review your encoder settings and set it to something less hard on your cpu. OBS has a steep learning curve but its really the best free video capture program imho.
any tips on it's use....i'm inept at computers...the jitter/lag while it's not even recording is annoying...frame rate?...i've already broken it because i clicked on things and now have little windows everywhere and can't put them back into the program...lol...sad face
Well, i havent used obs in a while, but you will need a decent graphics card, if you dont have a good gpu what you need to do is turn down the frame rate and the resolution so its not so hard on your computer.
AMD Radeon HD 7800...AMD FX 6300 6 core processor....i dunno if thats good enough...i'll try turning the frame rate down...have a play with it...cheers mate!!
Thats better then my trash gpu and i can still make a video, its a pretty bad low quality video but at least its a video.
I'm using Nvidia Experience's overlay video recorder. It works pretty good!
is it free?...i'll google him
Yes it's free on Nvidia's website. Just download Nvidia Experience and press the overlay button. There's also a similar function in the Xbox Game bar in Windows 10. Just press Win + G and you should have it there
bugger....requires a Nvidia GPU....i'm AMD....also Windows 7.....thanks anyway!...happy gaming!
What graphics card or chipset do you have? Most vendors now provide such tools and utilities. If you know what hardware you are running then check out the manufacturers website for screen capture utilities.
Alternatively I used to quite like Fraps, its not free but you will be able to find cracked versions online within minutes.

AMD Radeon HD 7800...AMD FX 6300 6 core processor...hmmm..8GB ram...that could be the problem..
Id say that hardware set up should do pretty well in terms of screen capture, I pull it off with good results on an older and far less powerful AMD CPU.
In the past I have found vendor provided utilities to be a little better in terms of performance than 3rd party software.
Looks like you could potentially run Radeon ReLive. I have zero experience with this so I have no idea what its like.
Might be worth a try though.
