Better idea:
Put it in texturepacks folder and use it then switch to default later ._.

Copy all your texture packs into some folder on your desktop, then start the Minecraft launcher, press Options, then Force Update.
There you have it, Default, now just import your old texture packs.
If you want to EDIT the Default, go to .minecraft/bin, then hold the right mouse button above the minecraf.jar, then drag it onto the desktop and press extract to minecraft folder.
Then remove all the .CLASS files and you're done.

i think i left out...i want it so i can make a texture pack.my bad.lol
but if all else fail that is what i would do
I dont think you understand.... I go into my minecraft.jar, and copy files from the texture pack i currently use,and overwrite the default.
o i see.
Delete your jar? (MAKE A F*KIN BACKUP)

And that goes back on what i said before.
I would much rather just have a nice neat file with everything in it,so i dont forget anything (I HAVE A BACKUP,but i dont want to mess with it)

i use a mac,so i have to edit the texturepack in the jar (more, its the easiest way)
Click the texture pack button and click open texture pack folder. That's where I put my texture packs.
Are you talking about Texture Packs? If so go to the button on the start screen that says texture packs and click default...
Well,i use a different texture at the moment. i did back up a bin with the default in case i wanted to change back, but i dont want to forget something from that. I would much rather just get it in a neat folder.
uuhh, why do you need it, don't you already have it? XD
