What are some good reasons to block people?

This is something I’ve been wondering for a while. I’m trying to determine whether or not some people are worth blocking, or if there’s a better solution.
Edit: I’m mainly wondering how to know whether or not blocking would be overkill.

When you feel uncomfortable/harassed due to them
when knowing that the person may read your posts makes you uncomfortable
or when you don't want to read their comments because they make you feel uncomfortable

Any and every reason is a good reason to block someone. If you're not comfortable, they are not worth your time.
Blocking is easy, free, and fun!
There should never be a situation where you don't like a person online but feel as though blocking is wrong, I mean, do you want to keep seeing things you don't like and give them opportunities to make the internet for you not fun? If you still want to see them on-line then obviously blocking wouldn't even be on your mind. There is never a middle ground for blocking, either you like or feel neutral to a person or you block them, besides, its the nicest option since confronting them would agitate them or making posts about them would just blow up the situation so blocking is just the thing to do!

Blocking someone is no joke, I have been blocked by friends, people I don't know, when you block someone it can hurt that person's feelings.
If someone blocks someone its for a reason, and its their right. it may hurt your feelings but that unfortunately is your problem and not their burden to explain it to you. As the person blocked you really have a few options but they all boil down to leaving that person alone and moving on. Either you completely deserved being blocked and have to decide if that reason is something you wish to change about yourself, or they blocked you for a subjectively bad reason (still their right to do so) and probably wasnt worth being friends with them anyways and time to move on. Under no circumstance is it okay to publicly post mentioning you were blocked by ___ as it will likely result in that person being harassed and could result in being banned.

I have been blocked on Discord by a really close friend who has memory issues and probably has forgotten I exist by now. I don't even know if she was the one who was controlling her phone at the time and I miss her a lot. Blocking is never something to do for no reason, especially if it is someone who trusts you.

That's kind of the point, you don't block friends and people you like y'know! Besides, when they're blocked you'll never even know how they feel afterwards so it really doesn't matter.

The saying alludes to the idea that even highly improbable events (blind squirrel finds acorn) may occur.
In context, even the worst fool will occasionally say something it is useful to know (aside from the common occurance of providing insight into how that set [mis]perceives reality ).
This does require, however, developing good mental filters (and all too often a 'strong stomach').

Personally, I never block people.
At least, I never have yet.

My problem is that blocking people does way more than hide their posts. If there was something that would only do that, I would definitely use it. Blocking someone is to make sure that you never interact with each other, which is kind of overkill in my situation.
